We are extremely excited to bring you The Art Farm in The City. Our main focus in this program is to have your children interact with our indoor animals. Each class will last one hour focusing on a different animal every week. Our program alternates every other week between a music class and an art class. (Except 6-14 mos.) For example, the first week will be a music class. During music time your child will play with our rhythm instruments (bells, tambourines, drums, triangles, and maracas) and will be exposed to and sing songs about the animal of the week. Animal education will be included in this part of the program and it is structured around the age of your child. During circle time in every class the animal of the week will visit. Each class is limited to 10 children, so each child gets lots of attention.

On the second week of our program you and your child will participate in our art class. Every art class will open in our music room with welcome songs. At this time the animal of the week will be introduced and will interact with the children. After circle time we will move to the art room and make our art project of the animal of the week.

At The Art Farm in The City, your child will be exposed to many different experiences. Every week the last 15-min. of class is your free time on the "farm". This is where our entire animal family lives. Here you can mingle with fish, birds, turtles, bunnies, hamsters and more.

6-14 Months  The Chix
This class was specially designed for you and your child to interact with each other, new friends and of course our animals. This will be a music class every week. We will do bounces, wiggles, tickles, and singing. Children will participate by playing with puppets and rhythm instruments. At this age we will slowly introduce each animal to get him or her acquainted with animals in general.

14-18 Months The Hamsters
In this class, we will encourage more interaction and movement during music time. We will continue singing with simple melodies, movement and playing the instruments. At this age children are very curious and observant, therefore during art we will introduce them to different mediums of art on their level. We will begin minimal animal education focusing on names of animals and what they look like.

18-24 Months  The Froggies
During music class we will introduce new more complex melodies. Through repetition of our musical repertoire children at this age are encouraged to sing. We will review animal names and animal identification by sight. In our art class the art projects will progress to a more complex level as well.

24-30 Months  The Bunnies
In the Bunny's class simple music elements will begin to be introduced. Children will slowly become aware of the steady beat in music by watching, listening and imitating the instructor. Dynamics of the music will be introduced to the children as well as tempo. The animal education will be increased. Children will be aware of what color each animal is and will be able to tell us each animal by name. In the art class children will be exposed to more complex projects.

30-36 Months  The Turtles
At this age the simple music elements will be reviewed, along with musical repertoire so the children will really begin to start doing things on their own. Movement will be incorporated to the tempo and dynamics of the music and children will be able do things on the command of the teacher's instructions. In animal education we will begin to talk about where animals live and what they eat. During art their motor skills will have progressed and children will really begin to show you what they can do.

1-4 Years  The Guinea Pigs (Sibling Class)
The Guinea Pigs is our sibling class. Ages 1-4 years can come to the farm together and participate in the activities as a family. It meets every week alternating between art one week and music the next. Every week animal education is part of our program, and always with a "guest" visitor and free time on the farm. We offer a 25% discount on additional siblings enrolled in this class!

2 1/2-4 Years  The Goldfish (3-4 yr.Old Class Drop Off Optional)
The Goldfish class is our baking and art program, without music time. It meets every week alternating between art one week and baking the next. Always with a "guest" visitor and free time on the farm.

3-7 Years  Animal Care (Drop Off Optional)
Our Animal Care class meets every week for education and fun-filled hours learning to care for the animals during their daily routine. This very special group is limited to 4 children. The hands-on instruction time will be about 45 minutes with 15 minutes of free time at the end of class. Check the schedule for the appropriate age.

All Ages - Open House (Drop Off Optional for 2 Years and Older)
Drop by during the two hours for baking, arts/crafts, music, singing and bushels of cuddling time with the animals.
Prices are $20/day/child for clients enrolled in the current semester. All others: $45 for 1 visit or buy a pass: $200 (5); $300 (10); $500 (20). Starts September 13th - December 17th.

The farm is available for parties on weekends, late afternoon on weekdays, and Fridays from 1:30 - 3:30 P.M. or 4:30 - 6:30 P.M.
